The Leonore Piano Trio performs Huw Watkins’s single-movement Second Piano Trio, a work suffused with tender beauty and engrossing thematic transformations. The program marks the composer’s 50th birthday year by pairing it with the Second Piano Trio by Brahms, known for its impassioned central movement. Robert Schumann’s turbulent Third Piano Trio completes this evening’s compelling trio of trios.
