Congolese pianist and composer Ray Lema brings his quintet to Berlin, presenting an intricate blend of Congolese rumba rhythms, jazz harmonies, and global influences. Drawing on a career spanning several decades and traditions ranging from classical piano to Afrobeat, Lema weaves polyrhythms and the energetic Sebene phrasing into an engaging live performance as part of the 36th São Paulo Biennial Berlin Edition.
