Berlin Philharmonic Plays Beethoven and Scriabin
A nostalgic classical night.
The Berlin Philharmonic and Chief Conductor Kirill Petrenko perform a programme pairing Beethoven’s Violin Concerto with Scriabin’s Third Symphony. Beethoven's work is highlighted for the singing lyricism of its slow movement and exuberant dancing Rondo, while Scriabin’s 'The Divine Poem' is described as a rapturous musical tussle between worldly pleasure and spiritual enlightenment. Grammy Award-winning violinist Augustin Hadelich returns to the Proms as the featured soloist.
