Een underground, nostalgische folkavond.
Shovel Dance Collective brings experimental traditional folk music to La Maroquinerie, blending improvisation and communal song. Tickets on Mood.
Composed of nine musicians, Shovel Dance Collective revisits traditional music from Great Britain, Ireland, and beyond. They treat folk music not as an archaeological artifact to unearth, but as a living, inviting, and generous communal activity. Blending improvisation and experimentation, their music emerges as a patchwork of pieced-together, rearranged, and recontextualized elements, woven with a deep sense of how traditional music carries the voices of the oppressed and those whose labor creates the world's wealth.
