London Mozart Players, Martin James Bartlett, Ruth Rogers, and Sebastian Bohren perform Beethoven’s Symphony No. 5 at St Martin-in-the-Fields. Lineup on Mood.
A performance exploring the theme of fate and resolution through Beethoven’s Symphony No. 5. The work, characterized by its iconic four-note motif, was composed over four years as Beethoven faced severe hearing loss. This dark and radical symphony journeyed from tension to a blazing finale, redefining the symphonic form. The programme also features Florence Price’s Adoration and Mendelssohn’s spirited Concerto for Violin and Piano, presenting three distinct ways composers find expression in their music.
The performance takes place on April 23, 2027, at St Martin-in-the-Fields Church in Trafalgar Square, London.
The London Mozart Players are joined by soloists Martin James Bartlett, Ruth Rogers, and Sebastian Bohren.
