Claudio Monteverdi’s expressive art, honed to perfection in his secular madrigals, trains the spotlight on intense emotions and vivid contrasts, qualities explored and absorbed by Les Arts Florissants over long years of experience. This evening’s programme includes the compelling drama of Il combattimento di Tancredi e Clorinda and heart-melting Tirsi e Clori.
