To celebrate her recording and A-Trane anniversary, Olivia Trummer presents a carefully curated best of her original compositions with an unusual, brand-new ensemble. Olivia Trummer began playing the piano at the age of three and started composing before she could read music. Her 2006 debut album Nach Norden was first presented at Jazz Club A-Trane, launching a career that has led to eleven albums of her own and performances at Carnegie Hall, Montreux Jazz Festival, and Blue Note Tokyo. Celebrated by the press as a virtuoso pianist and singer who advances vocal jazz into the realm of art song, she is also recognized for writing strong, memorable melodies that rival the jazz standards of the Great American Songbook. For this anniversary event, Olivia Trummer opens her songbook like a diary, bringing her most original and intimate compositions back to the stage with four distinguished musicians from the European jazz scene. Her trio is expanded with the unique sounds of Johannes Lauer on trombone and Ariel Bart on chromatic harmonica, while Makar Novikov on double bass and Mathias Ruppnig on drums form a grooving rhythm section.
