An underground jazz night.
The exploratory trio YTD (Year-to-Date) features Jeong Lim Yang on bass, Elijah J. Thomas on flutes, and Deric Dickens on drums. The ensemble creates and performs creatively improvised music that charts new directions while paying homage to musical traditions. Jeong Lim Yang is a South Korean bassist and composer prominent in the NYC scene, known for her lyrical approach and award-winning debut album Déjà Vu. Percussionist Deric Dickens balances his time between NYC's improvised music and indie rock scenes, bringing a rhythmic drive comparable to Paul Motian. Elijah J. Thomas is a Harlem-based multi-instrumentalist and composer who serves as Jazz Program Manager for the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music.
