Returning for its sixth year, this series of concerts – presented by the Students’ Union, alongside its societies – celebrates diversity in classical music. This specific event honours the heritage of the indigenous peoples of Latin America and the end of European colonial rule in the early 19th century. The programme features works by prominent 20th-century Latin American composers, including Heitor Villa-Lobos’ Brazilian Cycle for solo piano, Alberto Ginastera’s Five Popular Argentinian Songs, and Villa-Lobos’ Three Indigenous Poems for soprano and piano.
