Chatterjee's musical foundation began with tabla studies under Pandit Samir Chatterjee, and his current work as a composer merges Indian Classical, folk, and Rabindranath Tagore's music with jazz. His career includes mentorship from jazz legends like Wynton Marsalis and Sonny Rollins, as well as performances at major venues like Carnegie Hall and Blue Note.
