The Divine Comedy is a Northern Irish indie rock and chamber pop band, fronted by Neil Hannon. Formed in 1989 in Londonderry, the group has evolved from its early guitar-led indie roots into a sophisticated project known for its art-pop sensibilities and literary influences. Neil Hannon's songwriting is celebrated for its wit and orchestral arrangements, drawing inspiration from classical styles and historical literary figures.
