A slow-burn, underground contemporary classical night.
Heinz Holliger composed the monumental Scardanelli-Zyklus between 1975 and 1993, inspired by the poems Friedrich Hölderlin wrote under the pseudonym Scardanelli while confined in Tübingen. The work consists of three cycles of four seasons and features varied ensembles, exploring a sound world between minimalist purity and intense emotion. This performance brings together the Ensemble intercontemporain, the Latvian Radio Choir, and soloists to perform this modern masterpiece.
