Danaya Band was established in New York City in 2017 by bass player and percussionist Aboubacar Dembele. He is the son of the celebrated Malian musician Bamba Dembele. The group consists of highly experienced, world-traveled artists who draw on their rich West African musical backgrounds.
The band performs on December 26, 2026, at Shrine, located at 2271 Adam Clayton Powell Jr Blvd in Harlem.
