An underground opera night.
Classically-trained baritone Babatunde Akinboboye brings a fresh perspective to opera with his unique "Hip Hopera" style, which fuses traditional classical elements with the rhythmic intensity of hip-hop. Accompanied by DJ Amond Jackson, Babatunde performs a mix of instantly recognizable arias, such as Toreador and O Sole Mio, alongside modern rhythms and spoken-word passages. This genre-defying performance highlights the shared dramatic and emotional reach of both musical worlds in an intimate setting.
