A slow-burn, nostalgic classical piano night.
In honor of the centenary of Morton Feldman's birth, London-based pianist Pavel Kolesnikov performs the composer's 1981 masterpiece Triadic Memories. This expansive and delicate solo piano work is known for its subtle variations and disorienting beauty, created by Feldman's use of simple melodic cells and a constantly half-pressed sustain pedal. Kolesnikov, who recently co-curated the Ragged Music Festival at Muziekgebouw, brings his unique sensitivity to this hallmark of contemporary musical minimalism.
