A celebration of Romantic-era piano virtuosic works and Afro-Cuban concert music presented as part of the FIU Music Festival. In collaboration with the South Florida Chapter of the American Liszt Society, the program honors Liszt’s birthday alongside the music of 19th-century Afro-Cuban virtuoso José Manuel Jiménez. Pianists Kemal Gekić and José López perform solo and chamber pieces, joined by guest soprano Sonya Baker for a program of Lieder and classical art song.
