Στα μέσα της δεκαετίας του 1940 ο Άστορ Πιατσόλα μεταμόρφωσε το τάνγκο εισάγοντας στοιχεία τζαζ και κλασικής μουσικής και μετουσίωσε το πάθος, τη μελαγχολία και την αισθαντικότητα της αργεντίνικης λαϊκής μουσικής σ’ αυτό που έγινε παγκοσμίως γνωστό ως Nuevo Tango. Στην Πλατεία του Μεγάρου το Transcription Ensemble θα παρουσιάσει εμβληματικά έργα από τη σπουδαία παρακαταθήκη του ιδιοφυούς Αργεντίνου συνθέτη, σε μεταγραφή για μικρό σύνολο.
