New World Symphony presents an orchestral program at New World Center featuring works inspired by American styles and iconic figures. The repertoire includes Guillaume Connesson's saxophone concerto A Kind of Trane, Arthur Honegger's Pacific 231 paired with Jean Mitry's short film, John Adams' Short Ride in a Fast Machine, Carlos Simon's Four Black American Dances, and George Gershwin's Catfish Row suite from Porgy and Bess.
