Persian and Baroque embroideries. Chakâm, named after an ancient form of Persian poetry, brings together three women from different musical traditions. The brilliance of the Iranian târ played by Sogol Mirzaei dialogues with the swirling qânûn of Greek instrumentalist Eleanna Pitsikaki and the baroque-sounding viola da gamba of French-Vietnamese virtuoso Marie-Suzanne de Loye. The musicians fuse temperaments, eras, and geographies into a rare and delicate poetry where Persian inspiration and the nostalgia of exile meet improvisation and invention.
