Thorbjørn Stefansson, double bassist and composer, is a versatile artist in the scene for improvised music and an integral part of the American, Danish, and German jazz scenes. In 2024, he won a Danish Music Award for Alternative Jazz Release of the Year and has collaborated with artists such as Tim Hagans and George Garzone. This performance features Stefansson on bass, joined by Jules Gardner on woodwinds, Robert Vega on trumpet, and Jonas Esser on drums. The evening is structured into a primary set followed by a jam session. Robbie Vega also maintains a dedicated teaching practice in the New York metropolitan area, mentoring the next generation of jazz musicians.
