Systema Solar is a musical and visual collective from the Colombian Caribbean that has spent 19 years pioneering 'Berbenautika'—a fusion of traditional Colombian rhythms like cumbia, champeta, and bullerengue with electronic styles like hip-hop, house, and electronica. Founded in late 2006 for the MDE07 art biennial in Medellín, the group creates an audiovisual experience that translates the energy of Colombian street festivals (verbenas) and sound system culture (pikós) into modern party hymns.
