A nostalgic classical night.
Steven Isserlis is awarded the Anner Bijlsma Award during this special evening of the Cello Biennale Amsterdam. The program features Saint-Saëns' Second Cello Concerto, a piece Isserlis champion as a lesser-played masterpiece. The concert also highlights Ivan Karizna performing Weinberg's recently rediscovered Concertino and the popular Chant du Ménestrel by Glazunov. This diverse program includes works by Mozart and Ravel, celebrating both established classics and rediscovered gems of the cello repertoire.
