A homegrown, raw disco night.
Teshi’s Fine Hour is a listening session dedicated to hyper-specific genres of music, featuring guest selectors who highlight overlooked moments in popular music history. For this episode, guest selector DJ Zeshan joins the session to explore Japanese cover versions of Western hit songs. From early pop adaptations to 70s and 80s soul and disco, and 90s reggae and house, the session traces how Japanese artists reinterpreted international hits. Hosted by Teshi, a Berlin-based writer and music nerd formerly of Kyoto's Jet Set Records, alongside London-based DJ and record collector Zeshan Tariq.
