The programme pairs Bartók's intricate Violin Sonata No. 2 and Prokofiev's lyrical Five Melodies with Havlat's own arrangements of Kurpie folksongs by Szymanowski and music from Germaine Tailleferre's 1923 ballet Le marchand d'oiseaux.
