Rooted in jazz and experimental electronics, Jameszoo (Mitchel van Dinther) brings together the musicians of Het Muziek with the Indonesian gamelan ensemble Gamelan Salukat for an evening of sparkling new music. His latest work, House, explores how a sound space that feels like 'home' can take musical form. The piece combines wind and string instruments, constructed through a musical Lego box of sounds, and is heavily inspired by rich gamelan culture and the magical compositions of Dewa Alit, founder of Salukat. Jameszoo has collaborated with artists like Thundercat, Dorian Concept, and the Metropole Orkest, developing a unique sound where improvisation and electronics flow together. Het Muziek serves as a pioneering ensemble for new music, investigating musical boundaries with unexpected partners. Gamelan Salukat, founded by Balinese composer Dewa Alit, plays a unique 10-tone instrumentarium of his own design, merging tradition with radical innovation in a layered and unpredictable sound world.
