The African Concert Series: Nigerian Chamber Music
An underground classical night.
Part of The African Concert Series, this performance highlights Nigerian chamber music, opening with Fred Onovwerosuoke’s Concertino for Two Oboes and String Quintet ‘A Tale of the Fisherfolks’, which draws inspiration from coastal African folklore. The concert also presents a Nigerian Suite featuring classical and highlife arrangements of works by Fela Sowande, Godwin Sadoh, Victor Uwaifo, Evi Edna Ogholi, and Nico Mbarga.
