Praised by BBC Music Magazine for the ‘wonderful immediacy’ of its Haydn performances, the London Haydn Quartet offers the ideal post-Christmas pick-me-up. The programme features the composer’s genial String Quartet Op. 17 No. 1, known for its ‘grass-green’ opening theme, and the dazzling G major String Quartet from the Op. 54 set, composed in 1788.
