Dutch Rock-events deze maand in Amsterdam

Dutch rock, often referred to as Nederrock, originated in the late 1950s through the Indorock movement before evolving into a distinct national identity during the 1960s and 70s. Typically characterized by a classic rock instrumentation of electric guitars, bass, and drums, the genre blends Anglo-American blues-rock influences with a uniquely European melodic sensibility. Its rhythms are generally steady and driven, maintaining a moderate to high tempo that supports a mood ranging from gritty rebellion to anthemic pop-rock accessibility. Functioning as a regional subset of the broader rock category, it maintains a close semantic relationship with Nederpop while emphasizing heavier, guitar-driven arrangements and authentic, often raw performance styles.
