Jazz Brass-concerten en liveshows in Amsterdam

Jazz brass represents a vibrant musical tradition rooted in late nineteenth-century New Orleans marching bands, where military structure merged with African-derived syncopation and blues tonalities. The instrumentation is defined by a powerful frontline of trumpets, trombones, and saxophones, anchored by the deep resonance of the sousaphone and polyrhythmic percussion. Characterized by high-energy 'second line' rhythms and exuberant improvisational passages, the genre conveys a festive, communal mood essential for parades and funerals. Semantically, it bridges the gap between traditional Dixieland and modern funk-influenced brass bands, emphasizing an entirely organic, acoustic sound that prioritizes collective ensemble playing over solo virtuosity.
