Space Music-events deze maand in Amsterdam

Emerging in the early 1970s through the pioneering works of Berlin School artists and ambient composers, space music is a subgenre of electronic and New Age music designed to evoke the vastness of the cosmos. Typical instrumentation centers on lush synthesizers, sequencers, and long-form drones that create ethereal, reverberant soundscapes often devoid of traditional melodic structures or rhythmic pulses. The tempo is generally slow or completely fluid, maintaining a contemplative and hypnotic mood that emphasizes texture over complex composition. While it shares deep semantic roots with ambient music, space music remains distinct through its specific thematic focus on science fiction and the sonic representation of outer space.
