Trance-events deze maand in Amsterdam

Emerging from the early 1990s German electronic scene, trance is a genre of electronic dance music characterized by its hypnotic qualities and emphasis on melodic progression. It typically features a tempo ranging between 125 and 150 BPM, utilizing driving 4/4 kick drums, layered synthesizers, and prolonged atmospheric breakdowns that lead to euphoric climaxes. The genre's instrumentation relies heavily on digital synthesizers like the supersaw and rhythmic sequencers, creating a mood that oscillates between transcendental introspection and high-energy peak-time excitement. While rooted in the foundations of techno and house, trance is semantically distinct due to its harmonic complexity and focus on building emotional tension through repetitive, evolving soundscapes.
