Uplifting Trance-events in Amsterdam

Uplifting trance emerged in the late 1990s as a high-energy evolution of traditional trance, characterized by its focus on euphoric melodies and emotional intensity. Its instrumentation relies heavily on layered supersaw synthesizers, driving 909-style drum machines, and cinematic orchestral pads that create a sense of grandiosity. Musically, it is defined by a fast tempo typically ranging from 138 to 140 BPM and long, melodic breakdowns that transition into high-impact drops featuring driving 16th-note basslines. This genre serves as the more melodic and optimistic counterpart to progressive trance, emphasizing a feeling of transcendence and spiritual release that remains central to global festival culture.
