Vintage French Electronic-events deze week in Amsterdam

Originating in the late 1960s and peaking throughout the 1970s, vintage French electronic music represents a pioneering era where avant-garde academic experimentation met melodic pop sensibilities. Utilizing early analog synthesizers like the VCS3 and ARP 2600 alongside primitive sequencers, the genre is defined by lush cosmic soundscapes, repetitive rhythms, and a focus on futuristic, space-age textures. This sonic movement bridged the gap between the concrete explorations of Pierre Henry and the eventual rise of commercial French Touch, maintaining a cinematic and atmospheric quality. Its legacy persists through a specific Gallic approach to synthesis that favors evocative, ethereal melodies over raw dancefloor aggression.
