Electra-events deze maand in Barcelona

Electra, primarily known as Electro or Electro-funk, emerged in the early 1980s as a futuristic fusion of funk rhythms and electronic synthesis, heavily influenced by Kraftwerk and urban New York culture. The genre is characterized by its reliance on the Roland TR-808 drum machine, featuring syncopated, staccato breakbeats and iconic vocoder-processed vocals. It bridges the gap between post-disco and the birth of hip hop and techno, often employing a cold, robotic aesthetic paired with high-energy dance grooves. Typically set at moderate to fast tempos, the style emphasizes a machine-driven precision that revolutionized dance floors and paved the way for modern electronic dance music.
