Gothic Rock-concerten en liveshows in Barcelona

Gothic rock emerged in the United Kingdom during the late 1970s as an atmospheric offshoot of post-punk, characterized by its dark, melancholic themes and somber aesthetic. The instrumentation typically features driving, melodic basslines, flanging or chorus-heavy guitars, and prominent synthesizers, often accompanied by deep baritone vocals and steady 4/4 percussion. Its rhythmic structure maintains a hypnotic, mid-tempo pace that bridges the gap between the raw energy of punk and the expansive textures of darkwave. While semantically rooted in the broader rock tradition, the genre distinguishes itself through a focus on romanticism and existentialism, profoundly influencing later movements such as industrial music and gothic metal while maintaining its distinctively brooding sonic identity.
