Spanish Folk-events deze maand in Barcelona

Spanish folk music encompasses a diverse array of regional traditions rooted in the cultural history of the Iberian Peninsula, blending Roman, Moorish, and Celtic influences. The instrumentation typically features the Spanish guitar alongside traditional percussion like castanets or tambourines, and regional specifics such as the Galician gaita or Castilian dulzaina. Rhythms are often complex and varied, ranging from the ternary meters of the jota to the intricate syncopations found in southern dance styles, usually maintaining a moderate to lively tempo. This genre serves as a cultural foundation for modern flamenco and Latin American folk, evoking moods that alternate between festive communal celebrations and deeply introspective storytelling.
