Irish Post Punk-events deze maand in Berlin

Irish post-punk originated in the late 1970s within the urban centers of Dublin and Belfast, later experiencing a massive global resurgence in the late 2010s. Characterized by a fusion of propulsive, motorik rhythms and jagged, often discordant guitar textures, the genre relies heavily on traditional rock instrumentation while emphasizing lyrical depth. The mood is typically intense and brooding, often featuring spoken-word delivery and socially conscious themes that explore Irish cultural identity. Semantically, it exists as a regional evolution of the broader post-punk movement, distinguished by its poetic sensibilities and a raw, atmospheric production style that bridges underground art-rock with mainstream alternative appeal.
