Persian Pop-events in Berlin

Persian pop, also known as Farsi Pop, originated in the mid-20th century in Iran, blending traditional Persian melodies with Western pop, rock, and jazz elements. The genre is characterized by a distinctive fusion of acoustic instruments like the tar and kamancheh alongside modern synthesizers and electric guitars. Rhythms frequently utilize the 6/8 time signature, creating an upbeat, danceable pulse, while the lyrical themes often focus on romantic longing and nostalgia. It maintains a strong semantic connection to traditional Persian Radif but evolved significantly following the 1979 revolution through the Iranian diaspora in Los Angeles, known as Tehrangeles pop.
