Proto Metal-concerten en liveshows in Berlin

Proto-metal emerged in the late 1960s as a heavier, more aggressive evolution of psychedelic rock and blues rock, laying the foundational blueprint for the heavy metal movement. This genre is characterized by heavily distorted electric guitars, thick bass lines, and powerful, thunderous drumming that emphasizes a sense of weight and volume. It often features dark, occult, or rebellious lyrical themes delivered through powerful vocal performances, setting a mood of intensity and defiance. Semantically, it occupies the transitional space between hard rock and the first true heavy metal bands, retaining blues-based structures while increasing the sonic density and aggression that would eventually define the metal genre.
