Turkish Singer Songwriter-events deze week in Berlin

Turkish singer-songwriter music emerged as a distinct movement in the 1970s, blending traditional Anatolian folk sensitivities with the structural influences of Western folk-rock and pop. Characterized by an intimate and introspective mood, the genre typically features acoustic-driven instrumentation such as the classical guitar and piano, occasionally incorporating subtle arrangements of strings or the bağlama. The rhythm is generally moderate to slow, prioritizing lyrical clarity and emotional resonance over complex percussive patterns, which fosters a deep semantic connection to the ozan tradition of traveling bards. It occupies a sophisticated niche within the Turkish music landscape, acting as a bridge between mainstream pop and intellectual folk, where the artist's poetic authenticity is the primary focus.
