Concerto-events in Bordeaux

A concerto is a classical music form typically featuring a solo instrument, such as a piano or violin, accompanied by an orchestra. Originating in the Baroque era and evolving through the Classical and Romantic periods, it is generally structured into three movements: fast, slow, and fast. The genre emphasizes the virtuosity of the soloist, often including a cadenza—a passage where the soloist performs alone to showcase their technical skill and interpretive prowess. Concertos are characterized by a dramatic interplay between the solo voice and the orchestral ensemble, creating a rich tapestry of contrasting textures, moods, and thematic development, ranging from profound introspection to exhilarating brilliance.
