Musica Folk Asturiana-concerten en liveshows in Bratislava

Musica folk asturiana is a traditional genre originating from the Asturias region of Northern Spain, characterized by its deep roots in Atlantic Celtic culture and shared heritage with neighboring Galicia. Central to its sound is the gaita asturiana (bagpipe), often accompanied by the tambor, accordion, and various wooden percussion instruments that drive energetic dance rhythms like the muñeira. The genre features a diverse emotional spectrum, ranging from the somber, melismatic vocal style of tonada to high-energy instrumental pieces intended for communal festivities. It maintains a strong semantic connection to other Celtic folk traditions, blending modal melodies and triple-meter grooves to create a distinctive regional identity that persists through both traditional and contemporary folk-rock interpretations.
