Southern Rock-concerten en liveshows in Brussel

Southern rock emerged in the late 1960s across the American South, fusing rock and roll, country, and rhythm and blues into a distinctive regional sound. Pioneered by acts like the Allman Brothers Band, the genre typically features a powerhouse instrumentation of multiple lead electric guitars, Hammond organs, and driving percussion. Rhythmically, it favors moderate to fast tempos with boogie-woogie influences and extended improvisational jams that evoke a raw, soulful, and often rebellious mood. As a bridge between blues-rock and country-rock, Southern rock emphasizes storytelling and grit, maintaining a high level of organic performance that distinguishes it from more polished mainstream rock counterparts while celebrating Southern cultural identity.
