Horrorcore-events deze maand in Boekarest

Horrorcore is a transgressive subgenre of hip hop that emerged in the late 1980s, characterized by its macabre lyrical themes centered on death, the supernatural, and psychological terror. Rooted in the aggressive delivery of hardcore rap, the music utilizes dark, eerie production featuring minor-key melodies, dissonant orchestral samples, and cinematic sound effects to create an unsettling atmosphere. While its rhythmic foundation often mirrors boom-bap or trap structures, the mood is consistently aggressive and abrasive, designed to shock and provoke. Semantically, it bridges the gap between gangsta rap and shock rock, sharing a thematic obsession with morbidity and violence found in death metal while maintaining the sonic architecture of urban electronic music.
