Rock En Espanol-events deze maand in Hamburg

Rock en español emerged in the late 1950s across Latin America and Spain, initially as adaptations of English-language rock and roll before evolving into a distinct cultural movement. The genre typically features standard rock instrumentation—electric guitars, bass, and drums—while frequently integrating synthesizers or traditional Hispanic rhythmic elements. Its tempo is diverse, spanning high-energy anthems to mid-tempo power ballads, characterized by a passionate and often socially conscious mood. Semantically, it serves as a linguistic localization of the rock idiom, maintaining strong genealogical ties to hard rock, new wave, and alternative rock while asserting a unique Ibero-American identity.
