Turkish Folk-events deze maand in Hamburg

Turkish folk music, known as Türk Halk Müziği, originated from the diverse cultural tapestry of Anatolia, reflecting the oral traditions of nomadic tribes and rural villagers over centuries. The genre is centrally defined by the evocative sound of the bağlama lute, often accompanied by wind instruments like the zurna and kaval, alongside percussive elements such as the darbuka. Rhythmically, it is characterized by complex "aksak" or broken meters, including 5/8 and 9/8 time signatures, which provide a distinct pulse for both lyrical laments and communal dances. Its mood spans from the profound sorrow of unmetered "uzun hava" to the vibrant energy of "kırık hava," serving as the foundational substrate for Anatolian rock and modern Turkish pop.
