Lithuanian Metal-concerten en liveshows in Kaunas

Emerging during the late 1980s as Lithuania sought independence, Lithuanian metal is a regionally distinct branch of heavy metal characterized by its deep connection to Baltic mythology and history. The sound typically utilizes high-gain electric guitars and aggressive drumming, but often incorporates traditional folk instruments like the kanklės to create a unique pagan atmosphere. Rhythmically, the genre spans from the slow, crushing tempos of doom metal to the rapid-fire blasts of black and death metal, maintaining a mood that is frequently melancholic yet defiant. This genre acts as a cultural bridge, blending Western extreme metal frameworks with indigenous linguistic and melodic structures, distinguishing it within the broader European metal scene.
