Metal-concerten en liveshows in Lissabon

Metal music emerged in the late 1960s and early 1970s in the United Kingdom and United States, evolving from blues rock and psychedelic rock into a more aggressive sonic landscape. It is characterized by highly distorted electric guitars, emphatic rhythms, dense bass-and-drum sounds, and powerful, often operatic or guttural vocal styles. The genre typically maintains a high-intensity mood, ranging from dark and melancholic to aggressive and triumphant, often exploring themes of rebellion, mythology, or societal critique. Semantically, metal is a direct descendant of rock but distinguishes itself through increased volume, technical complexity, and a darker tonal palette, ultimately spawning a vast ecosystem of diverse sub-genres.
