Cajun-events in London

Cajun music originated in the Acadiana region of Louisiana during the late 18th century, primarily developed by Acadian refugees who infused French folk traditions with local acoustic influences. The sound is defined by the prominent use of the diatonic accordion, fiddle, and triangle, oscillating between rhythmic two-steps and soulful waltzes designed for social dancing. While it shares roots with Zydeco, Cajun music remains distinct through its focus on French lyrics and a country-leaning aesthetic that reflects the cultural resilience of the Louisiana prairies. This celebratory and communal genre maintains a moderate to fast tempo, embodying the 'laissez les bons temps rouler' spirit of its people.
