Indie Rock-events deze maand in London

Indie rock originated in the 1980s across the United Kingdom and United States as an underground alternative to mainstream rock, characterized by its DIY ethos and independent distribution. The instrumentation typically centers on a standard rock quartet of electric guitars, bass, and drums, though it frequently incorporates synthesizers and unconventional acoustic textures. Rhythms are generally steady and mid-tempo, featuring jangly guitar arpeggios or gritty distortion that creates a soundscape ranging from introspective and melancholic to energetic and raw. This genre acts as a bridge between post-punk and alternative rock, emphasizing artistic authenticity and creative freedom over the polished production standards of commercial pop-oriented music.
